A agência LUSA acompanhou os trabalhos da conferência de encerramento do projeto FIREUSES, realizada no final de abril de 2025 na Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, tendo produzido uma peça que foi reproduzida em mais de uma dezena de sites de notícias. Com destaque para o jornal Observador, SIC Notícias ou o Agroportal, de âmbito nacional, e para o Postal do Algarve, Notícias de Coimbra ou Jornal do Centro, com um foco mais regional, os artigos salientaram a perspectiva histórica introduzida pela investigação (“Estudo conclui que o fogo fazia parte da paisagem antes de se tornar catástrofe”), a importância de recuperar usos do fogo do passado (“práticas consideradas arcaicas podem ajudar no combate aos fogos”), assim como a dimensão internacional do encontro que juntou investigadores da Galiza, Tunísia, Brasil e Reino Unido.
The LUSA news agency covered the closing conference of the FIREUSES project, held at the end of April 2025 at the National Library of Portugal, producing a piece that was reproduced on more than a dozen news sites. Notably in the national media outlets Observador, SIC Notícias and Agroportal, and in the more regionally focused Postal do Algarve, Notícias de Coimbra and Jornal do Centro, the articles highlighted the historical perspective introduced by the research (‘Study concludes that fire was part of the landscape before it became a catastrophe’), the importance of reviving past uses of fire (‘practices considered archaic can help fight fires’), as well as the international dimension of the meeting that brought together researchers from Galicia, Tunisia, Brazil and the United Kingdom.
