No dia 24 de outubro de 2025, os investigadores do projeto FIREUSES José Ferreira, Miguel Carmo e Frederico Ágoas participaram no 7º encontro do ciclo Maneiras de Ver #7, organizado pela livraria Tigre de Papel, em Lisboa, e pelo Le Monde Diplomatique – Edição Portuguesa. Num debate moderado por Fernando Ramalho, os investigadores revisitaram as conclusões do artigo “Uma catástrofe (não) anunciada: História e política dos grandes incêndios em Portugal”. A apresentação serviu como mote para uma conversa mais alargada com a audiência em torno da longa história de intervenções estatais no território que está a montante do atual regime de grandes incêndios que afetam anualmente Portugal.
On 24 October 2025, FIREUSES project researchers José Ferreira, Miguel Carmo, and Frederico Ágoas participated in the 7th meeting of the Maneiras de Ver #7 cycle, organised by the Tigre de Papel bookshop in Lisbon and Le Monde Diplomatique – Portuguese Edition. In a debate moderated by Fernando Ramalho, the researchers revisited the conclusions of the article ‘A (non) foretold catastrophe: History and politics of large fires in Portugal’. The presentation served as a starting point for a broader conversation with the audience about the long history of state interventions in the territory that have contributed to the current regime of major fires that affect Portugal every year.
