Em março de 2021, a candidatura das Paisagens de Fogo foi apresentada no Concurso para Projetos I&D em Todos os Domínios Científicos da Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, no final de julho foi recomendada para financiamento e em setembro deu-se início aos trabalhos, com uma série de reuniões gerais preliminares. A 28 de outubro é assinado o Termo de Aceitação, que determinou o início formal do projeto para o dia 17 de janeiro de 2022.
In March 2021, Burning Landscapes was submitted to the Call for R&D Projects in All Scientific Domains of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portugal), at the end of July it was recommended for funding and in September work began with a series of general team meetings. On 28 October the Acceptance Agreement was signed, which set the formal start of the project for 17 January 2022.
