Este estudo aborda a transição das paisagens de fogo no planalto serrano composto pelas serras da Lapa e da Nave no norte de Portugal, identificando as dinâmicas socioambientais, atores e políticas que levaram à transformação destas paisagens rurais entre 1950 e o final dos anos 1970 (tais como florestação dos baldios, o êxodo rural e o abandono agrícola) e à chegada dos grandes incêndios florestais. O artigo integra o dossier temático “Histoires de feux” da revista Études Rurales, editado por Gilles Guerrini e Jean Christophe Paoli.
This study looks at the transition of the burning landscapes on the plateau composed of the Lapa and Nave mountains in northern Portugal, identifying the socioenvironmental dynamics, actors and policies that led to the transformation of these rural landscapes between 1950 and the late 1970s (such as the afforestation of the common lands, the rural exodus and agricultural abandonment) and the arrival of major forest fires. The paper is part of the special issue ‘Histoires de feux’ of the journal Études Rurales, edited by Gilles Guerrini and Jean Christophe Paoli.
