O projeto FIREUSES esteve presente na 4ª. edição do Congresso Mundial de História Ambiental, em Oulu, Finlândia, no final de agosto de 2024, com duas comunicações. Joana Sousa e Marta Nunes Silva apresentaram uma comunicação intitulada “Fire acceleration and dissonances in forest plantation economies” no âmbito do painel “Forest, time and society”. A comunicação reflete as primeiras tentativas de colocar os dois estudos de caso do projeto, as serras da Lapa e da Nave e a serra de Monchique, em diálogo no que se refere à história do controlo do fogo e as suas transformações, valorizando tanto as fontes orais como documentais recolhidas.
FIREUSES was present at the 4th edition of the World Congress of Environmental History in Oulu, Finland, at the end of August 2024, with two papers. Joana Sousa and Marta Nunes Silva presented a paper entitled ‘Fire acceleration and dissonances in forest plantation economies’ as part of the ‘Forest, time and society’ panel. The paper reflects the first attempts to bring the project's two case studies, the Lapa and Nave and the Monchique mountain ranges, into dialogue with regard to the history of fire control and its transformations, making the most of both the oral and documentary sources collected.
