O projeto FIREUSES esteve presente no XII Encontro Rural RePort, organizado pela Rede de História Rural em Português, que teve lugar na Universidade de Évora nos dias 30 e 31 de outubro. O encontro, subordinado ao tema “Ruralidade(s) e Ambiente na Longa Duração”, contou com um conjunto diversificado e interdisciplinar de sessões dedicadas à história rural de Portugal, de Espanha e do Brasil. A participação da equipa FIREUSES consistiu em duas comunicações. Os investigadores José Miguel Ferreira, Inês Gomes e Frederico Ágoas apresentaram a comunicação “‘O mais terrível inimigo’: notas para uma história das políticas de fogos e florestas no Estado Novo”, onde procuraram apresentar uma visão de síntese das pesquisas realizadas no decurso do projeto sobre a história política e científica dos incêndios florestais no século XX.
The FIREUSES team was present at the XII Rural Report meeting, organised by the Portuguese Rural History Network, which took place at the University of Évora on 30 and 31 October. The meeting, on the theme of ‘Ruralit(ies) and Environment in the Long Duration’, featured a diverse and interdisciplinary set of sessions dedicated to the rural history of Portugal, Spain and Brazil. The FIREUSES team contributed with two papers. Researchers José Miguel Ferreira, Inês Gomes and Frederico Ágoas presented the paper “’O mais terrível inimigo‘: notas para uma história das políticas de fogos e florestas no Estado Novo” (‘The most terrible enemy: notes for a history of fire and forest policies in the Estado Novo’), which attempted to summarise the research carried out during the project on the political and scientific history of wildfires in the 20th century.
