Testimonies
This platform aims to be a place for listening to voices coming from various realities and ways of interacting with fire. It hosts reports from people who live or are in close proximity to the territories under study and who decided to share their experiences and perspectives about fire and wildfires. As a safeguard to the identity of the participants, the texts below were anonymised, and the interviewees were assigned pseudonyms. Since the experience of fires is potentially traumatic and associated with memories of loss or processes of accountability, this choice was considered important for protecting interviewees and/or others related to the episodes described. In due time and if applies, we may be able to share interviews with people eager to tell their story in their own name.
