The Archivio notarile mandamentale di Osimo fonds is preserved at the Library and Historical Archive of the Municipality of Osimo. It is one of the main documentary collections kept in this institution. Among its notary records, it is possible to find numerous documents relating to the Jewish community of Osimo. As shown by Andreoni (2012), it is possible to reconstruct the economic, lending, and trading activities carried out by various Jews living in the regions of Osimo and Marche by conducting research in this fonds.

Archival history
-
The Osimo district notary archive is composed of notarial protocols which preserve the documents produced by the notaries of Osimo and Castelfidardo from 1442 to 1962. In addition to these bound protocols, the collection also includes numerous loose documents and copies of acts produced from 1552 to 1884. These documents are gathered in folders without binding, labelled according to type: “apoche”, "esibite", attestations, wills, private and public acts, etc. There are repertoires and alphabetical indexes organised by notary name.
The archive where this documentation is preserved is located in the rooms below the Library, which occupies the western part of the Palazzo Campana. The entire complex, including both the Library and the archives, is dedicated to the bishop of Macerata and Tolentino, Francesco Cini (1610-1684). In 1675, Francesco Cini donated his collection to the Library, giving form to its first nucleus.

Administrative / Biographical history
-
The notary in Osimo developed mainly from the 14th century, in parallel to the municipal development of the city, whose oldest statutes were composed in the first half of the 14th century. As in other Marche localities, the notarial organisation was based on the formation of a city notary college and on the approval of a series of rules; until the intervention of Pope Sixtus V (papacy: 1585-1590), who standardised the rules for the entire Papal State and established a central archive in each province. In Osimo, as in other cities, references to the Jewish community often appear in acts drawn up by notaries. These references are mostly related to lending and trading activities in particular, but also come up as a result of economic and civil conflicts with the Christian population.
