Synopsis

These amounts are for the balance of freight made to Venus from Lisbon to the Coast of Barbary and back. Sale of a small parcel of logwood. Rum brought by Captain Boyd agreed to be sold. No offer to the Minerva's cargo. They are to receive the money of the Joseph.
Letter on November 3, 1772: Hayley and Hopkins settled with the insurers on the Venus for not proceeding the voyage from Gibraltar to Suriname. Enclosed account of the £700 insurance ordered on the Charlotte to the Mole and back. Minerva and its cargo are still unsold. Sale of its logwood at £3 and its mahogany at 2 p/foot. Agreed sale of rum brought by Captain Hore: higher price than expected, good quality.
