Synopsis
-
Levy & Marache inclose the invoice and bill lading of 20 boxes spermaceti candles on board Drummond for Lopez's account to their address. Mr Pollack disposed off the pewter, which finished this article. Indigo will not answer in New York as expected. Levy & Marache tell the they will be glad of another parcel of spermaceti candles soon. They cannot procure any more tea for Lopez on the same terms. Levy & Marache also congratulate Lopez for his good success both in the whaling and other concerns. They promise to comply with the memorandum Lopez had addressed them for sundry goods in the best and most expeditious manner. The vessels from Europe had not yet arrived. There are no Indian goods, so, they cannot have any silks, etc. until the middle of April. In P.S., they communicate the information given by [Hayman] Levy that he had sold all Lopez's soap.
