Synopsis
-
Levy & Marache inform Lopez that the brigantine expected from London arrived in New York on June 14. There are several articles in Lopez's memorandum that they have not in their cargos, so, they will try to purchase them from other merchants in New York and charge Lopez their commission. They are glad the two boxes of china turned out well. Lopez had told them that his cousin James Lucena was offered china by Mr. Franklin at 100% - Levy and Marache tell that they cannot afford their china under 125%. The 20 boxes of spermaceti candles that Lopez told were ready to ship will come very seasonable. Candles are much wanted, so they encourage Lopez to send them all the candles he can. Rum is a very dull article at moment.
