Levy & Marache inform Lopez that they had received the invoice and bill of lading for 30 boxes of spermaceti candles by Captain Wanton on Lopez's account. They are sorry for the china arrived in bad condition - they agree to stand half the loss with Lopez. The women shoes also did not fit Lopez's order and Levy & Marache explain that they had been sent to them from London and they never openned the trunks, so they did not know that the shoes were "calliman" (calamanco?).
