Administrative / Biographical history

Isaac Sigala (d. 1793) was a Sephardic Jew who worked as a bookkeeper in Amsterdam. In 1759, he bought a house and yard between Amstel and Muidergracht near the Oudevrouwenhuis. He disposed of it in 1780. Isaac and his brother Sabetay were sons of Mordechay Sigala (d. 1750). Sabetay lived in Suriname and left a widow there, Ribca de Mercado Bom Rey.
