Synopsis
Sloop: Fanny. Captain: George Brown. Destination: The Mole, Hispaniola. In the Mole, Brown should deliver the enclosed letter to Manuel Rodrigues, to whom Lopez wanted to assist Brown in the disposal of the sloop and cargo. Lopez expects that the sloop will obtain at least the price he limited for it. In the case of the vessel being unsold, Lopez wants Brown to proceed to the Bay as soon as he had disposed of the cargo, which is unsuitable for the Bay, it should be left at the Mole in the hands of Manuel Rodrigues. In the case of Manuel Rodrigues's absence from the Mole, Brown should deliver a letter that Lopez addressed to Captain John Dupuy, who will act on behalf of Rodrigues. If Brown proceeds to the Bay, he should deliver another Lopez's letter to Captain Newdigate. In the case of Captain Newdigate's absence, Brown should sell the sloop for as much mahogany as he can and ship it per Captain Hyer, with whom Brown and the crew should return home. If neither Newdigate nor Hyer happens to be there, Brown should endeavour to freight the proceeds of the schooner for Newport or any other of the continent. In P.S., Lopez adds that if none of Lopez's vessels happens to be at the Bay nor Brown can freight the proceeds of the sloop, then Brown should leave the proceeds in the hands of Jonathan Card.
