Synopsis
Daniel Crommelin & Sons send Lopez the invoice of 11 chests of Bohea tea shipped on board the Maria Johana, Captain Luyties Ewes, to Surinam. They are consigned to Captain Hathaway and, in his absence, to Stolting & Oehlers. Attached is a letter on June 22, 1772: Daniel Crommelin & Sons inform Lopez of the receipt of his bills and enclose other bills. Developments on Jacob Chabanel’s affair. High prices of the duck, occasioned by the little quantity in town – these prices are expected to fall after the arrival of vessels from the Baltic. The suspension of arms between Russia and Turkey should influence the price of duck. Prices of other commodities: sarsaparilla, logwood, spermaceti refined and unrefined. Daniel Crommelin & Sons intend to ship Lopez’s goods per the Mary Johanna, Captain Loutje Evers, which is the first vessel to sail for Surinam.
