Synopsis
-
Sarzedas informs Lopez of the reception of a letter from Myer Polock. He recommends a friend, Mr Dupuy, to Lopez. Sarzedas’s son told him about Lopez’s plan of settling a house of commerce at Fort Dauphin and having Sarzedas settle there. He thanks the trust but, two months earlier, he accepted an offer made by a merchant at the Cape, Pierre Rolland, to keep a store at half profits in the Mole and, for this reason, he has to refuse Lopez’s proposal. However, Sarzedas suggests a nephew of himself who is settled at Fort Dauphin.
