Synopsis
-
Lopez was surprised by Brown & Co.’s previous letter in which they mentioned that they expected him to have already sent them the Jamaica rum for the pig iron. Lopez explains that he had not dispatched the rum yet because he was waiting for Brown & Co. to send someone to receive it and attest to its quality. As Brown & Co. had instructed Lopez to deliver the rum to Thomas Lindsey, he asked “your good neighbour Mr William Russell” to “give himself the trouble of looking into it in your behalves”. Lopez has no flour to send. Misunderstandings regarding the rum’s price.
