Synopsis
Joseph Lopez informs his father that he recovered from smallpox after "a very disagreable sickness of 3 days". He is sending the letter by his cousin David Lopez Junior and he laments that he cannot accompany him to Newport, but Messrs. Gomez and other friends prevailed him that it would be very imprudent to travel. So, Joseph decided to wait for 6 or 8 days before returning to Newport. He had addressed Aaron's compliments to Daniel and Moses Gomez and they also return their respects.
