Synopsis
-
Hart informs Lopez that he had not yet received the salt nor the coffee that he expected from Lopez. He understands that there is an embargo laid on salt, but as his goods were purchased before the embargo he begs Lopez to get a permit with the goods of his committee so that they could be forwarded without any risk. Hart could not find the proper bill of the tallow, since Mr Fonda, who helped Lopez to weigh it, is dead. Hart asks Lopez to acquaint him on what he had considered concerning the quantity of tea that was missing from the last loading: "the tea there was eight pounds too short in this chest you will settle it with Mr Farr".
