Synopsis

Hewes informs that he forwarded the tea, sugar and glass to Mr Ellison at New Windsor, as Lopez had directed. Difficulties in getting bills. Only one chest of tea was sold. He has 4 chests of tea in his possession and he believes that their value will rise that Winter, since tea is rising in France and the last ship brought none. Almost all ginger in the town is sold and Hewes began yesterday on selling Lopez's ginger. He will send other bills by Doctor Garden. He asks Lopez to inform Jacob Rodriguez Rivera that he had received his last favour enclosing Solomon Marache's note.
Hewes includes information on goods sent to Fish Kill: one chest of tea for Cornelius Ter Bush and another to William Ellison; 3 boxes of sugar, Havannah sugar, 1 box of English crown glass, 1 box of French glass, etc. Also information on the price of merchandises: beef, flour, rum, sugars, coffee, cocoa, pimento, ginger, molasses, Bohea tea, Madeira wine, Port wine, Tenerige wine, raisins, etc.
