Synopsis
Mears acknowledges the reception of Lopez’s last letter with advice on the rum’s sale. Salt’s price fell, but Mears hopes to sell the other articles to a good advantage. He will attend to Lopez’s instructions regarding the sale of 700 or 800 bushels of flaxseed. He engaged with a person to carry Lopez’s goods on to Philadelphia. He wrote to his kinsman Nathan Bush to load him back some snuff of pigtail tobacco if he finds some to be bought. Mears asks Lopez to inform Hayman Levy if he loads the wagon back, since Levy may have a quantity of sheet Copper to send Asher Myers.
