Synopsis
-
Mears reports the safe arrival of Lopez’s goods by Marvin. As the immediate sale of Lopez’s skins and breeches, as he wished, will be difficult. Even snuff has not been sold as quickly as it was. He mentions a letter about a protested bill that he had received from “Messrs. Mende’s relative” to Lopez’s draft on Mr Werdin and quotes part of this letter. He recommends Mr Simson serve Lopez’s interests in Norwalk since he had fixed it there with his family. Mears does not hope to stay in Norwalk and asks Lopez to make him acquainted where, in “any part of this Continent”, his services would be helpful for him and he will be glad to move on.
