Synopsis
-
David promises that his uncle’s orders respecting Captain Wright will be attended to. General Gates told him that he would facilitate the interview that Lopez had requested. He received the wine that his cousin Joseph had forwarded him by Blake. David put into the present wagon the goods that Lopez ordered, packed together with the Suriname goods and 2 reams of wrapping paper, 2 boxes of candles, the box of feathers and Mr Mendes’ soap. He was not able to obtain writing paper at a reasonable price. News on the war: “the apprehension you carried with you of our danger for the movement of our Newport neighbours now gives us no occasion of allarm”.
