Synopsis: David reports to Aaron the dispatching of his goods and letters by Blake. Colonel Bowen advised him that a small boat would be dispatched by him in a day or two to Newport as a flag to endeavour to effect an exchange of Mr Townsend and other inhabitants there. David addressed a letter to Captain Wright to go by this conveyance. Congratulations on the success of the American arms over the British forces at Charleston. He encloses a copy of the letter to Wright: June 22, 1779: David informs Wright that Lopez accepted his proposal of interview and asks him to propose a time and a place to meet him.
