Synopsis
-
Mears wished to have more time to sell Lopez’s articles. As he was instructed by Lopez to sell them as soon as possible into cash, the prices were low. Sold articles: tobacco, gloves, a pair of buckskin breeches, a sheep skin, snuff. Mears confesses that he was at a loss and the situation appears to get worse due to new difficulties arising to the Southward and Eastward by the restrictions on trade. He advises employing capital in speculative enterprises. Opinion on Mr Werden’s affair.
