Synopsis
-
Seixas reports to Lopez that he only received some goods (sugar, coffee, ginger, allspice, chocolate) and the 4 boxes of sugar were much shattered and some wet. He did not hear anything on the remaining 26 boxes of sugar. There is no demand for the articles in Newport. Entire stagnation of trade. But Seixas thinks that sugars, in a little while, will be in great demand. Coffee keeps the price. He felicitates Lopez on his happy deliverance from the “perilous situation” in which he was involved and on the happy issue of the “malicious persecution” against him.
