Synopsis
-
Pereira Mendes mentions an “alarming” letter that Lopez had sent him, which obliged him and his friend Moses to go to Boston. He acquaints Lopez that they arrived well. Pereira Mendes informs that the “old Continental money” is in a bad reputation and has been refused by many. Mr Hammet has procured the coffee that Lopez ordered. Pereira Mendes could buy rum at £28 per gallon. Moses begs that David will not procure the hats he desired.
