The Abbaye Sainte-Croix de Bordeaux fonds contains documentation related to property and financial management, and religious life in this abbey. It comprises documentation such as registers of charters, correspondence, information on judicial litigation, and documentation on the collection of taxes and fees, among others. This fonds includes a record containing information on the transfer of a plot of land belonging to the Gradis family to be used as the cemetery of the Portuguese Jewish community (H 644, Livre des délibérations capitulaires; December 31, 1728, fol. 70).

Administrative / Biographical history
-
The Benedictine Abbey of Sainte-Croix and its medieval church were founded in the 7th century. The primitive building burnt in 732 and again in the mid-19th century, following an attack by the Normans. At the end of the 10th century, Count William V (969–1030) founded a Benedictine monastery on the same site, and the monks created a parish.
The church was closed during the French Revolution, and the convent buildings and land were confiscated and allocated to a hospice. In 1860, architect Charles Burguet (1878-1946) restored the church's choir. Other architectural restorations followed.
