Details

Captain Briggs is instructed to land his passengers in Barbados and endeavour to dispatch there the whole or a part of the cargo. He is also instructed to proceed directly to Mole after finishing his business with Mess. Jones & Moc.
He has orders to dispatch the ship Charlotte directly to the Mole under the command of Captain Benjamin Allen if Briggs needs more time to solve his business at Barbados. In this case, Captain Allen, and his present mate, should leave and address the ship and the cargo to Captain John Dupuy, to whom Briggs will write and forward the bill of lading and invoice of the cargo.
In the case of matters at Barbados appearing in a safe state, Briggs should proceed to the Mole and there exchange his cargo into a load of molasses to Newport. If the net proceeds of the cargo will be more than the value of the amount of molasses, Briggs should invest the remainder in sugars, both of the best quality.
